Using Reports to Analyze Your Contracts
The Reports feature enables you to filter, search, and export contract data across your entire portfolio. Access Reports through the dedicated tab in your left-hand navigation.
Overview
Reports displays all your contract records and extracted properties (for executed contracts), allowing you to analyze contract data at scale and identify patterns across your portfolio that would be difficult to spot when reviewing contracts individually.
Common use cases include:
- Lifecycle management: Track upcoming contract renewals and auto-renewal settings, as well as quickly figure out which contracts can be terminated, and for what.
- Pre-acquisition, risk-assessment, & due diligence: Identify assignment and change of control provisions across vendor agreements.
- Governing provisions: Isolate contracts under a specific jurisdiction and governing law (for example: New York Law or UK Law) by dispute resolution methods to seek the right counsel, assess risk, and plan amendments.
- Business intelligence: Export contract data for use in external BI tools like Power BI.
Getting Started
When you first open Reports, you'll see all your contract records displayed. The view defaults to showing 10 records, but you can adjust this using the pagination controls and navigate between pages using the arrow buttons.
Searching and Filtering
Text Search
The search bar searches across all visible properties simultaneously. You can use text search alone or combine it with filters for more precise results.
Note that this searches the extracted contract properties displayed in the report—it does not search the full text of your contract documents.
Filtering by Properties
Apply filters using properties Recital extracts from your contracts. Add as many filters as needed to narrow your results. To remove all applied filters, click the "Clear" button.
Understanding Notes
Some properties include an additional "Notes" column. These AI-generated notes provide additional context about the extracted property and explain nuances that may not be clear from the property value alone.
For example, if Assignment shows as "Restricted," the notes might explain the specific restrictions or conditions that apply.
Working with the Report
Navigating to Contracts
- Click any contract title to open that contract record in Recital
