Saving, Importing, and Sharing Clauses

Recital automatically scans and indexes all clauses from contracts you connect, whether they come from your email, cloud storage, or file uploads.

These indexed clauses are currently only used for search purposes and are not directly accessible as a list.

Saving Clauses to Your Library

You can build your own clause library by saving clauses from your search results in the Word add-in. Each clause in the search results has a "Save to library" button (or "Save to shared library" if your library is shared).

Saved clauses always appear at the top of similar clause search results, making them easier to find and reuse.
To remove a saved clause, click the same button again when it appears in your search results.

You can filter search results to show only saved clauses, which is especially useful after you've saved multiple clauses or imported a clause library.

Importing Clauses to Your Library

If you have contract templates or documents containing preferred clauses, you can import them into your library.

Open the Word add-in navigation and select "Import to Clause Library."

Upload a Word or PDF document containing your preferred clauses. Once uploaded, the document will appear in the list of uploaded files. You can delete an imported document by clicking the trash can icon.

Sharing a Clause Library

By default, each user's clause library is independent, even within the same organization. If you want to share a clause library across your team, contact support@recitalapp.com to request activation.

Once activated:
All saved clauses will be shared across the team.
Users will no longer have individual clause libraries.

If a clause is saved from a contract that some users don't have access to, they will still see the clause in search results but will not have access to the original contract.
