# How to Connect Your Email

Connecting your email to Recital helps you automatically import contracts and related emails. This ensures you have a complete version history along with relevant email discussions, all in one place.

**Note:** Connecting your email is not the same as creating your Recital account with your email. Connecting your email is an additional step that gives Recital access to your inbox and attachments.

## Why Connect Your Email?

## Steps to Connect Your Email

1. Go to Settings. Visit [Recital Settings](https://app.recitalapp.com/getting-started). Click **"Connect your email."**

5. Click **"Connect with Gmail/Outlook" **This will redirect you to your email provider's website.
* If you signed up with a **Gmail** account, you'll see the Gmail option.
* If you signed up with a **Microsoft** account, you'll see the Outlook option.

5. Grant Access. On your provider's site, authorize Recital to access your emails and attachments.

7. Confirmation. After granting access, you'll return to Recital, where your email will show as connected.

## What Happens Next?

Recital will start scanning your inbox for emails with contracts attached. These emails and contracts will be automatically linked to the corresponding records in Recital. Recital will continuously scan and sync new emails and contracts.
