Comparing from a Docusign Email

Recital helps you easily review contracts sent via Docusign emails.

Previously, you had to open the email, click through to Docusign, download the PDF, upload it to Recital, find the previous version, and manually launch a comparison. Now, Recital does all of this for you in one click, saving you time and effort.

How It Works

When you receive a Docusign envelope email, Recital acts on your behalf to fetch the contract and store it in the associated record.

Note: You need to have previously connected your email account to Recital and agreed to allow Recital to access Docusign envelopes.

What Happens When You Receive a Docusign Email?

In Email (Outlook or Gmail)

Using the Recital email add-in, open a Docusign email containing an envelope link, open the Recital add-in, and click Compare with latest version to compare the document with the previous version in Recital.

In Recital

Recital fetches the document from Docusign and links it to the relevant record in Recital. The document details in Recital show who sent it and indicate that it was sent via Docusign.

Note: This means for Docusign emails, an email attachment is not required. Recital can retrieve the document directly from a link.

Good to Know

Docusign Notifications: Docusign may notify the sender when you click a link in an email. Since Recital acts on your behalf, these notifications may be triggered when Recital retrieves the document.
Automated Emails from Docusign: If Recital scans an old email with an expired Docusign link, Docusign may send you a new email with a fresh link. While we've worked to prevent this, if you experience any issues, please contact us at support@recitalapp.com.
